Proudlock's Carnival '78

11 Apr 2013

It’s carnival season at Marylebone’s Imitate Modern! Wednesday the 10th of April saw the launch event of Serge DeNime’s Marylebone pop up shop & photographic exhibition. This creatively infused gallery evening was hosted by Mother and son Oliver and Lena Proudlock, celebrating the full fruition of the Serge DeNime collection, as well as exhibiting his mother’s vintage photographs – The night was a fantastic fusion of art and apparel, and the crowd were treated to Elderflower infused Soda Stream cocktails whilst they browsed the collections.

This photographic collaboration between Lena Proudlock and Douglas Villiers breathed life into the pop up shop. The images taken from Rio de Janeiro's Carnival, 1974 and 1978, captured the spectacular euphoria and aesthetic beauty of the world-renowned Brazilian celebration. The same images that define Serge’s clothing collection, which were showcased downstairs.
