Islington’s long-running street market certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to living up to the area’s foodie reputation. Selling everything from fresh fish to fancy cheese, Chapel Market is where locals come to buy groceries and gourmet treats. This iconic Grade II-listed pie shop is ready-to-go and available to rent as restaurant.
During the week, it’s a largely local crowd that shops at Chapel Market, while nearby workers come to grab lunch from Mercer & Co. or one of the market’s street food stalls. Tourists wander in for breakfast and a browse around at weekends; on Sundays, the street opens up to London’s oldest farmers’ market. Evenings see market traders and visitors rub shoulders in The Alma pub, and diners need to book in advance to get a seat at The Little Viet Kitchen. Angel tube is a four-minute walk.
To one side is men’s clothing store Folio that sells brands such as Levi’s, French Connection and Ben Sherman. The barber shop to your other side can get busy after work hours and at weekends. Over the road, shoe repair and key-cutting shop Leonards is transformed into a high-end shoe boutique every other Sunday.
A3 with no alcohol licence.
The space is available to rent for a minimum of 2 weeks.
The restaurant’s lovely white-tiled interior is listed so you can't make any changes to it.
