Holborn is probably best known for being close to the British Museum, but as a central location it’s hard to beat. Nowhere near as busy as nearby Oxford Street (but far from sleepy), it’s nicely sandwiched between the City and Covent Garden, and has seen some much-needed regeneration in recent years. Housed in the newly-renovated Hogarth House, this large Scandi-industrial-style space to let has a projector, three huge plasma screens, and a kitchen area; and has previously hosted events including panels, product launches and conferences for up 70 seated people and 100 standing.
During the weekday rush hours, it’s hard not to get swept up in the swarm of office workers flooding out of Holborn Underground. But things quickly settle down into a steady flow of tourists and shoppers en route to the British Museum and Covent Garden. Over the road, the popular Princess Louise pub and cocktail and coffee joint Holborn Grind attract a lively post-work and weekend crowd; and The Hoxton, Holborn hotel opposite has the hipster vibe of its East London counterpart. Holborn tube station is a couple of minutes away, and Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden are within a ten-minute walk.
Attracting many a hungry tourist, the brightly-coloured My Old Dutch Pancake House is right next door. Opposite are the aforementioned Holborn Grind and The Hoxton, Holborn, which houses Hubbard & Bell, a busy bar and restaurant run by the Soho House group.
