A Little About This Space

From the Tenement Museum to the many long-standing restaurants like Katz’s Deli (probably the most famous in the city), the Lower East Side is entrenched in tradition. But it’s not all history, the biggest draw to the neighborhood in recent years is the lively evening scene and the numerous art galleries that make up the area. Located on Norfolk Street, this former art gallery with a stand-out brick storefront is now available to rent for retail, events or showroom use. It's got two floors and has been newly white-boxed.

THE CROWD

The crowd in the Lower East Side is as eclectic as its shops. Expect NYU kids in search of a cheap beer and a concert, young professionals dining out at Beauty & Essex, or besuited men and dressed up women browsing one of the many nearby galleries. The weekends are busiest with people heading to places such as Spitzer’s Corner, a popular gastropub that’s common for the area, or catching a show at Arlene’s Grocery. Both the Delancey St. F and the Essex St. JMZ are less than a block away.

MEET THE NEIGHBORS

Next door is the Chesterfield Gallery and across the street there's the renowned Mitchell Algus Gallery and The Back Room (a speakeasy that’s open late). Maryam Nasser Zadeh, the legendary downtown fashion boutique and showroom, is further along. Ludlow House members' club is a three-minute walk away, and the perpetually busy New York staple Russ and Daughters Cafe is three blocks away.

Rules of The Space

Hosts/Brands must provide security and an alcohol license if events are late night, serve alcohol, or if crowds are expected. We can suggest vendors who can help with both if needed.

Otherwise, the space must be left broom clean upon your departure. No tape is allowed to be used on the walls or floors. And please respect our neighbors by keeping your guests quiet on the street.

Home Truths

Norfolk Street gets a little quieter than its neighboring streets, so make sure to shout a little louder about yourself.

It's a vast space to fill and there's no floor plan for this space yet, so don't forget to take measurements at your viewing.
