Traders have been peddling fabrics and fashion at Petticoat Lane Market since the 1700s, and today the market's stalls still line Wentworth Street six days a week. Tucked away between Spitalfields and Liverpool Street, this lively thoroughfare is also home to a collection of colourful textile stores, as well as this retail space to rent. The landlord will be renovating the space to make it easier for you to make it your own.
On Sundays, Petticoat Lane Market’s clothing, fabric and bric-a-brac stalls attract tourists and locals in droves, but there’s a busy market on Wentworth Street Monday through Friday, too. The food market is a big weekday lunchtime draw for local workers and students from London Metropolitan University’s art and design school, as are the cafes around you. Aldgate East and Liverpool Street stations are both a six-minute walk away.
You’ve got fabric shops to the left and right. There are two cafes, Sizzles and Café Thyme, nearby – both popular stops for breakfast and lunch.
Use of the basement is not included in the price.
You’ll be a little hidden by stalls outside the front of the shop on market days, so make sure you stand out.
