West Chelsea is the insider’s go-to escape to get away from Times Square and Midtown Manhattan. The area has seen a ton of new developments recently, and is home to lots of great theaters and restaurants, as well as this pop-up showroom space to rent for events in the lobby of a hotel on West 35th Street.

THE CROWD

This area is a good mix of everyday New Yorkers working their day jobs, and tourists who want to stay near Times Square, but not in it. Madison Square Garden is a few minutes' away for concerts and sporting events, and B&H Photo, maybe the largest camera store in the world, is around the corner. The location in a hotel lobby means you’ll have plenty of people at all times of the day walking by. The ACE trains at Penn Station are a three-minute walk away.

MEET THE NEIGHBORS

Across the street is another hotel and Hudson Station, a large bar that fills up with an after-work crowd. The Tick Tock Diner and Hammerstein Ballrooms are nearby, and the Javits Center, High Line, Empire State Building, and Bryant Square are all within a short walk.
