A favourite shopping destination for tourists and locals.

Canterbury is one of the world’s most iconic and cosmopolitan historic cities and home to no less than three World Heritage sites - Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey, and St Martin's Church.

Due to Canterbury’s rich heritage, over six million people from across the UK and continental Europe visit every year. Whatever the reason for their visit, the vast majority take the opportunity to pass through the city’s award-winning Whitefriars shopping centre, which is the biggest in the area.

Word on the street

The centre's close to the Library and not too far from Uni. It's a really nice open space, so we even just come for walks during the day.
Joanna, Student
The centre has modern convenience with a bit of old world charm. It's under cover in the arcade but still light and airy.
Jeremy, Business Development Director
This is where everyone comes. All the main high street stores are here and there's a few boutiques coming in.
