West of the Theater District and the cacophonous noise of Times Square, 9th Ave is a welcome respite from the tourist traps that are easy to get sucked into when you’re in Midtown. People come to 9th Ave for a more authentic experience away from the more materialistic side of the city. Hell’s Kitchen is the place to be and where you’ll find this massive event space with a commercial kitchen that’s located on the ground floor of the Cassa Hotel.
Post theater Broadway crowds and high-rise office workers come to 9th Ave to dine out at the many restaurants and bars because of their no-nonsense charm. Places like Rudy’s and Westway Diner are neighborhood staples and local favorites. For something more upscale, visitors will go to Esca or make a reservation months in advance to dine out at Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare. On weekends, the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market is packed with people looking for a good deal on vintage clothing. The A/C/E at Port Authority is just a block away.
Next door is Il Punto, a quaint Italian restaurant. Across the street is an Irish pub as well as a tapas and wine bar. A block up is Frames Bowling Lounge, a bowling alley and dance club that’s a big draw nights and weekends.
The current state of this event space is a bit of a mess so it might take some work before you can open up shop.
