Woking, in the south-west county of Surrey, was once home to the famous novelist H.G. Wells. Today it’s a popular residence for workers commuting into London. At the centre is Chertsey Road, dotted with restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs. By day a selection of local shops also open their doors to the public. Find this former cafe space in the middle of the action.
This is a large ground floor retail space, with a solicitor’s office on one side and a Subway restaurant on the other. The main room is tiled, with pillars breaking up the space and lots of room for retailing. At the back is a smaller room for storage, plus a kitchen area and toilets. There’s also outdoor access at the very back which leads up a small set of stairs to a taxi rank.
This space’s location is ideal. Less than a minute from the main station, trains running in and out of London from here provide commuter footfall throughout the week. Other shops nearby include a newsagents, a hairdresser and a cafe deli.
The space currently has scaffolding at the front, due to construction work on buildings nearby. Some fixtures and light bulbs need replacing.
