Bethnal Green has seen some change over the last decade or so as hip bars, cool businesses and a crowd of young professionals and artists have moved into the area. Hackney Road’s shops, bars and eateries make it a lively destination, and sitting at the Cambridge Heath end of the street is this large, white-walled studio for hire.

THE CROWD

Home to a mix of born-and-bred cockneys, City workers and young creatives, Bethnal Green is becoming more and more of a tourist hangout, too. Hackney Road gets busy at weekends, from brunch until late, while weekdays are a little quieter — although things perk up during rush hours, lunchtimes and evenings (especially closer towards Friday). The nearest station is Cambridge Heath, a three-minute walk away.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

Next door is Honeymoon, which is currently home to food and drink pop-up Daffodil Soup. To the other side are residential blocks and Tesco Express. Over the road is The Queen Adelaide, run by the former landlord of the legendary George and Dragon.
