Once an industrial playground, in the 1980s Villette was transformed into a large park for Parisians to unwind in. Today this area of the 19th arrondissement is packed with great stuff to see and do. Stroll by the lake, spend the afternoon at the City & Science museum, or catch the latest screening in the Geode IMAX theatre.

Or perhaps move your idea from high street to house boat with this unique retail space – which runs along the Bassin de la Villette. Use the open deck to catch people’s attention and draw them in, then use space inside the boat to immerse visitors in your idea. Retail space takes up half the boat interior – so there’s more room here than you might expect. It’s currently occupied by a book shop, but all sorts of ideas are welcome.

There are cafes around and an arthouse cinema nearby, and footfall is steady with Crimea Metro station just a short walk away. There’s lots of dwell time to make the most of – but remember people haven’t come to Villette to shop. So have a great plan for switching their mindsets when they pass by your door.
