Roman Road has seen a fair bit of change in recent years as this pocket of East London has become increasingly popular. At the Bow end of the road, this affordable and ready-to-go space also comes with a garden area to the rear.

THE CROWD

Roman Road is at its busiest on market days - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - when the locals come here to shop for bargains or grab a bite from one of the street food stalls. The coffee shops and cafes around you attract a big brunch crowd at weekends, while nearby restaurants Symposium and Bacaro can get lively in the evenings, especially towards the tail end of the week. A few doors down, bric-a-brac shop Gina’s Closet has been attracting locals looking for weird and wonderful buys since 1991. Mile End station is a 12-minute walk away.
